I have a northern tool pressure washer. I want to delete the soap injection on my pressure washer. There is a tube that runs between the water inlet and the pressure outlet that bypasses the pump. Does anyone know what this line is for?

That shouldn't be there, coming from the pressure side of the pump, you should first have your high pressure bypass, soap injector then coupler. Sometimes there will be two pressure ports and the bypass as well as a thermal relief will be on one side of the pump, the soap injector (if present) then the coupler will be the only things attached to the other port.

Can't answer your question, but I've been seriously eyeing a new pressure washer at Northern Tool. That bypass hose is present on the one I'm interested in, so I'm pretty sure it belongs there. My guess is it's there to allow you to purge the air from the water supply and wand before starting the pressure washers engine. I've attached a link to the operator's manual for one of their pressure washers. Take a look at the troubleshooting section. You may have a loose fitting or cracked hose on the injection line. Are you using the correct nozzle for injection?
