So i got two pressure washers each of which uses two different size water pressure outlet(at the pump). Shiiiiiit ton of sites to tell you every possible spec except for this. This dimension is not specified on ANY pressure hose or box store item info. Its the diameter of actual fitting inserted in to the pump, not the thread pitch ...

Comparing two units, Ryobi(gas engine). Uses smaller of the two

Stanley Electric and HF Electric. Uses larger. Both are standard 1/4 hose.

Wtf am i missing here, there is never any specs of this specific size they all only list the thread as if its the only important aspect. Pressure washers hoses on amazon/Hd all list "universal" clearly thats a load of horse dong. Im over googling if someone can chime in i'd be very grateful.

I just had the same issue and like you, I thought my head was going to explode trying to find the solution and correct adapter. That word universal is very misleading! If you're like me, you assumed the new hose would connect to your pressure washer, no problem. Wrong! The hose's connections are 14mm and the size on your pressure washer's are 15mm. So, you'll need what's called an M22 Hose Adapter Reducer 15mm to 14mm and you can get one for less than $10 online. You don't really need one for your spray gun because the hose will fit without an adapter on that end. Don't ask! I can't explain it! I hope I'm making sense and that this will fix your problem! Good luck!
