I've been looking into pressure washers lately, and here are some brands I've stumbled upon in my research that seemed worthy of taking a look at:

HydroTek

PressurePro

KarcherCommercial

Any opinions on this pump for home use? I see that it has been discussed in this thread. For the price, it seems like a decent deal for a triplex pump. The only complaints seem to revolve around the quality of the pump used. I really need a pressure washer, but I want something that doesn't ****, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

$499 is the cheapest price I've seen on a washer with a triplex pump, but I guess the quality of the pump on that washer is questionable and it's missing some common features like quick connect hoses and what not. For my needs, it would probably be fine, but I would like someone in the know to comment. I keep hoping something pops up in the Hot Deals forum, but so far no luck.

I have been in the power washing business for about 24 years. I have never heard of AAA pumps. That being said, they are likely a knockoff of one of the big manufacturers. That is a good motor, though.
Now I just went and looked. It looks like all of the AAA pumps have an integrated unloader. The unloader is a wear item, and will fail. Since the unloader on this pump is integrated, it means that you are going to have to replace the pump when the unloader fails.
I would not buy it.

Thanks for the input. I believe the AAA pump is manufactured by the same company that makes Simpson washers, FNA Group or something like that. I believe they also make DeWalt washers.

The washer probably would not get tons of use. I would use it primarily to wash my house and cars. How much is a decent pump? A few hundred bucks? How much does it generally cost to rebuild a pump?

I have a Rigid gas powered one like this:

It works really well, and sips fuel, always starts and runs well, has a good wand and tips that are easy to change, but I am always on the lookout for a good 220V electric powered unit, because I don't like the noise. The handle is convenient in that it folds down so the unit can stow under a workbench, but the orientation and height of it make it awkward to roll around without banging into your feet.

I would also like one with hot water heater, but those are $$$pendy.

Probably the biggest issue is repair parts for the pump. See if you can find the manufacturer and model number for the pump and then check availability for spares.

I got a used DeVibiss cheap but I found out there are no parts available for it. The better quality pumps tend to be horizontal shaft and mine is vertical (use a B&S lawn mower engine). Worse, most of the cheap replacement pumps on eBay are for 7/8" shafts and I'm pretty certain that my motor has a 3/4" shaft ! :willy_nil

I bought a Honda GX powered unit. I was advised to get a Cat or Comet pump. That has been 15 years. I came from a shop that dedicated to selling lawn, tree service and grounds equipment. No junk, lots of good stuff. I have never regretted it. I also keep it in an out building over the winter. Covered, and I add a pump protection product to the pump over the winter.

Bought a Karcher/Honda engine from Costco. The Honda engine is great. Buying parts for the Karcher not so great. The home owner Karcher equipment is limited for hose repairs. I had the hose connector go bad, the fix was buy the whole hose. No ends available and not interchangeable with other parts available. Did manage to find a workable end but replacement cost was half the price installed of that of a total hose replacement. At least I was up and running as the replacement had to be ordered in and would take 2 weeks for delivery.
