Looking for a surface cleaner to run with a 4000psi/4gpm unit. Any recommendations?

Personal use, cleaning a driveway and pool deck 1-2x a year

Definitely a two handle one, not just something that plugs into a lance. Bonus points for something that will work well for someone tall

That single point connection looks like a failure point. I would think handling that by those threads would result in breakage?

I have a Walmart special surface cleaner similar but much smaller about 14". It cut my driveway cleaning time down from 4 hrs to 1 hr. I was using the 30 degree fan. I can park 7 cars on my drive. It connects via the normal pressure wand/tip. The water pressure from the jets makes it super lightweight to move. Not sure how much area you're cleaning but that might be pretty large?

Not sure what's going on with the link but it goes to walmart.

Yeah, I don't love it. My bigger issue is control and maneuvering... My driveway is concrete but has an exposed pebble finish, so it's rough. I wonder if one of the hovering style might be easier.

Its a pretty big driveway, plus a decent sized pool deck. My only surface cleaner experience is with a large home depot rental, comparable in size to the one I linked, but those are $600-1000...more than i' d like to spend

Sorry- I see it's 16" that should be a good size to work with. My Walmart was around $75 if that's any help.

I don't think those small ones are the right thing for me. The pressure washer is 4400 psi, 4.4gpm (rated, at least)

This one does have a poly enclosure, but has the better handle style and is rated for much higher flow

We have Whisper Wash surface cleaners, (the Classic models), but they are pro grade. A good rule of thumb for sizing a surface cleaner is 4" for every 1 GPM, so 16"-17" for you would be ideal. They make a Whisper Wash Ultra, which is 16", and it's awesome. Cheap surface cleaners are frustrating and often produce subpar results, so I don't have any suggestions for lower priced ones, unfortunately.

I have the 85.403.007, which I believe is virtually the same, aside from mine being 20" instead of 16". I run it with a Simpson 4200PSI 4gpm pressure washer. Just a home user, but it's worked well for me. Sometimes I wish I got the one with the wheels, sometimes I'm glad I didnt get them. I believe you can add them later with a kit from BE.

I'd love a whisper wash, no question.

Do all of yours have wheels? Any thoughts on wheels vs hover for a rough surface?

None have wheels. I prefer the ones which hover so the distance between the surface cleaner and the concrete can be determined by me and not the height of the wheels. The only issue is that once you go over 8-9 GPM with the Whisper Wash Classic, you have to start finding ways of keeping it weighted down. Ankle weights work perfect for this application though.

Mint, thanks. Maybe I'll try the BE

Hey Guys, are these surface washers mostly for dirt and mold, or will they cut through tough stains like a 0-degree nozzle? Thank you!

They don't use 0 degree nozzles, so if you need one of those, a surface cleaner won't do it.

What are you cleaning that needs that?

My garage floor is very dirty and greasy after car restoration projects.

I had reduction in rust stain after pressure washing with both nozzles and a surface cleaner but it did NOT get rid of all the stain. Iron out helped but there was still some left after that.
You will need some serious degreaser but not sure it will remove all your stains especially greasy/oily.

Ive always been curious what the PSI rating means on these. The Mosmatic surface cleaner I have is rated for 4,000 PSI and I have a 4,200psi/4gpm pressure washer.

When using the pressure washer, its putting out around 2500psi. Anymore than that and I wouldn't be able to keep the surface cleaner on the ground.

I wouldnt want to use one that didnt have wheels but mine is basically hovering. Any imperfections and the skirt rubs on the concrete.
