I just burned up my electric pressure washer. It was never much to begin with. Just a cheap no name I inherited from my father. I need to replace it with something better. I would much prefer an electric unit over gasoline powered but I need something that actually works. Does anyone sell such a thing or am I stuck with another gas engine to maintain?

What do you use it for?
If you’re pressure washing a building prior to repainting you need a lot more power than if you occasionally clean up your patio or attack oil stains on your driveway.

Agreed with Shiftless. What is your use case for a pressure washer? What is you budget for a washer?

You can get a great electric 3500 psi washer for $1k+ but most people don't need a 3500PSI washer, nor do they want to spend a grand.

my recommendation is ff you want a washer for household use I'd say search in the sub $150 range and compare the GPM flow rates(go as large as possible) and provided accessories. They are disposable but you aren't too invested in it.

I have a Kranzel 1400 PSI that I like. It has a brass pump head which is better than the Aluminum junky HD 99 dollar units.

I use it on cars and its great, for cleaning a large deck or pavers its slow to clean. Borrowed my buddies gas 3500 and boom-work done on pavers in 1/4 the time.

I carry a $140 Sun Joe electric pressure washer in the race trailer and a second one at the house and have been very happy with both. My major complain is the lack of a hose reel.

Electric is better if you stay away from the toys they sell at the box stores.

The real question is how much are you willing to spend.

I have a Kranzle 1122TST also - love it. But it wasn't cheap.

I've been loosely in the market for an electric pressure washer myself and found these videos to be rather enlightening.

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLG_BGdABDC9s97iOZTLJVO3TF-K3fx99g

They even have a link to a spreadsheet comparing every model with rankings. At this point, for my budget and the best power I can get for it, I'm seriously looking at the Ryobi 2,300 psi model. https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-2...e-Electric-Pressure-Washer-RY142300/300405751

I also based my pressure washer purchase off of Mat's video. I got the Karcher K1700 cube, which is perfect for detailing needs. There's also the new Active pressure washer he now sells, which has considerable more GPM.

If I needed a electric pressure washer that could hang with the gas ones, I would look at the AR Blues. Do note, they are usually for stationary applications, but you could rig up a cart or just move it as you need to.

Another thing is to get a higher quality hose and quick disconnects. Most people pressure washer woes are from the crappy hose, gun, and wand. I recomend the Kobrajet/MTM hose, MTM SGS28, & wands.

I got a used 240v Landa with diesel burner, I believe it's 1500psi.
it's around 25~30years old. still works great !

maybe check with the dealers on a quality used if you want something a little more durable.

My local Hotsy dealer had a few name brand used machines.

Thanks LaSalle. That set of videos made it easy. The spreadsheet is no longer available but he made it pretty clear that the one I want is the Karcher 1900. $200 delivered to my door vs $270 or $300 for Ryobi or GreenWorks and it looks like a much better unit than either.

I have a Greenworks 2300 psi one, and really like it. Prior to that I had an old Karcher 1300, ran it until it died but it was a pita. Really crappy hose/tool storage and it was always falling over. Also had an old Coleman gas one that I think was 1800 psi or so. K-Mart special when they closed all the TX stores way back in time. I ran it for years, replaced seals once, new carb, etc. It didn't have wheels though, was loud and you couldn't let it run for long without using the trigger.

I have only had my Greenworks for one season, but so far I have been super impressed with it. Handled cleaning my walk and driveway, siding, aggregate patio and my camper. I also picked up a cheap floor cleaner attachment and it works pretty well too.

:+1:

I NEVER do this. I have NEVER felt the urge to leave a product review before, ever, but I just used a brand-spanking new Greenworks Pro 2300 with Jet Flow technology and I immediately came on here to see if anyone was talking power washers and leave a review and found this thread and your post.

I'm not a big power tools guy. I've been cleaning things the hard, old-fashioned way. But I'm getting older, I was facing about 150 feet of white painted wood picket fence with about 10 years of mold on it, and I let Mrs. Lugz talk me into a power washer. I also let her pick it and buy it, because she's the Deal/Coupon Queen etc and financier of the family.

When she came home with electric, I was skeptical. But this thing is powerful. Not only did it take off the mold, it "scraped" the whole job for me.
