Does anyone know who makes a good pressure washer? And does anyplace online sell them reasonably ?

I have heard that a honda GX engine would be the best?

And a CAT pump?

Any suggestions would be appreciated i really dont want to buy another cheap one that will only last a few years.

Thanks
Kyle

I just waited until they went on sale at Sears and bought one there. They probably last longer if you use it fairly regularly. I think one of the big problems is corrosion when it is stored. I got some of this Karcher Pump Guard for pressure washers. You attach the bottle to the hose inlet and prime it a bunch of times until the green liquid comes out.

Yes, I wish I had known about this when I got mine. I didn't see anything about that in the manual. It should be prominently displayed. Also, I have never seen this product or anything similar where washers are seen in the stores.

There is a difference between home owner and professional PW. Mine is a 3,000 PSI 5 gallon per minute, hot water machine, Vanguard 16 hp, General TS 2021 pump. I bought it new in 1999 for $5,000.00. I recently had a converstion with a guy from North Bay, Ontario. They just bought a 8 gpm, 3500 PSI, 285°F Karcher pw. The pw, trailer cost $40,000.00. Again, $40,000.00. If you want to see real pressure, Google water jet.

You can buy them at Northern on line. In fact I think this week they have a free shipping deal going on. They make their North Star brand here in the USA or at least they put it together here. They have the Honda GX motor with a CAT pump available on some of the models. You can also get them in their retail stores if there is one near you.

LOL .. i just wanted to recommend Kränzle too :D :) The german manufacturers:.....Kärcher, Kränzle, Frank, Oertzen, Falch, Dynajet, Ehrle

(or Nilfisk ( i think the higher priced Nilfisk units are still made in Denmark.))
Aquila would be another option from Denmark. Plus there are about a dozen manufacturers from Italy.

(ps: the Walfart website says "Sold and Shipped by:
CSNStores.com"
)

Here is a short video about the production of Kränzle pressure cleaners: click

I've got one with a 13hp Honda GX and some Italian name on the pump: Anno Reverberi or something like that.

I think it's 4.0 GPM, 3500 psi

I've had it for about 10-12 years and literally used it for hundreds of hours. It's one of my favorite and most used tools. It cleans about anything I need. At the highest power it will cut into concrete, but you can dial the engine down to idle and it has a pretty tame spray and it'll clean cars. There's also a spray power adjustment on the pump, but I always just turn the engine RPMS up and down to change the power.

I've never had any big problems with it. I love that Honda engine. It's big for a non electric start, but it starts on one or two pulls every time - except for one time when the spark plug went bad. Other than that I think I had to replace a worn out nozzle one time and a pressure quick connect that cracked one time.

I put a hose reel on it and bought 100 feet of hose to supplement the 50 foot hose it came with. On rare occasions I've used all 150 feet of hose, but normally I just use the 100 feet which fits on the reel.
