Have a question. has anyone use a prevost push button coupler to connect two hoses. Does it still give a nasty bang and whip when you disconnect it as most of the air from the second hose blast backwards, it's supposed to release the pressure a bit before letting go.

the safety ones will not release completely before expelling the pressurized hose. then you press again for it to release once the air has been exhausted.

I am slowly switching out all my couplers to the safety push button ones. They work just like was already said. First press the coupler pops out a small amount and starts releasing the air pressure. It directs the released air forward and doesn't allow the hose to shoot away or whip.

I had engineer in for a looksee on something and he noticed the air. All fixed whips or reels and screwed on the in end. The user in my shop never disconnects a section of hose, only connecter is at the tool.
