Price check on a lista cabinet

Hey everyone, so this Lista has come up. I dont really need one, but would love one more. It would fit perfectly in my garage. I have gotten some really good deals last summer, so not sure if I want to wait to get a good deal again or pull a plug on this one.

He is asking 1250$ for it. I am not sure what his bottom dollar is but he already rejected 800$.

What would you pay for it?

It comes empty with no contents.

I count 14 drawers. Not a good deal, and on the border of over priced. Check ebay in your area. It has a good layout and looks to be in good condition. I'd think $800-$1k would be more in line with a fair price. Just my 2¢

I personally wouldn't spend anywhere near $1250. Your offer of $800 is on par with what it's worth. I'd either wait for him to get desperate enough to sell it for its actual value or for a better deal to come up.

I live in Canada in an area where these do not come up too often. Ebay isnt an option due to shipping.

Someone once told me on this site that they're worth $50 per drawer. It's worked pretty well in the Hampton Roads area. I have at least a half-dozen now.

A very close version of the op's cabinet cost me $450, but his has those wonderful little bins.

Well then here are your options;

-Pay the full asking price
-Keep making offers to find bottom dollar
-Wait it out till something better for the $ comes along or till the seller drops to a price you are willing to agree with.

With something like a 50% spread. Means nothing. And that's not factoring in the people that posted saying they got theirs for about 1/2 the 100...

It's no different than the "buck a pound" claims on vises. Some are way over that, some are way under; and averages against the extremes don't play out.

Guys; there is no "Blue book" on used tools, and never will be...

This is nothing new and applies to almost everything. I bought a 4 drawer Lista cabinet for $100. I wouldn't have paid $400 for it but someone might have. I've been trying to sell an old Clarke mig welder and stand for $100 for the last 6 months and haven't had any takers. One guy said he'd pay me that if I threw in a new spool of wire. I said no out of principle. You're on your own when it comes to buying used.

I would say that is way overprices for a 10-15 year old Lista cabinet. We sell brand new ones in our Junkyard Specials at about half price. I don't have one like that right now but it would be about $1000-$1200. I get a new lot every 2-3 weeks.
