$400 isn't bad for the stack but it isn't great either. The bad part about them is the shallow top drawer.

I have the 48" set, top and bottom, bought new in the late '80's...and they have held up very well and not been babied.

Well worth the ask, given what you can buy new, today, for similar money.

Yes it's 4 for the pair. I will go check the cond tomorrow and see if he'll budge a little, they have been posted for a month.

Thanks I hadn't noticed how shallow the top 2 drawers are.

I think the drawers can be rearranged. I did in this bottom.

Is that a drawer? Or is it a pull out work surface?

I would be tempted at $400, and I don't really need another box at the moment.

It's a drawer, and is actually an inch or so deep. I keep small tools in there and some pens/markers and so on.

It makes a nice set and doesn't break the bank. The bottom drawer on the top box, can be overloaded and the bottom then drags on the front fascia...I did that to mine when working full time and using it. Other than that, it is still as solid and useful as when new. Dozens of moves and never a packing blanket.
