I'm looking to sell 1 or both of my flukes. They aren't the prettiest (yellow is dirty) but have served me well. Just wondering what a good price would be.
Thanks,

Around $50 and maybe high as $75 if minty. You can find plenty of these selling on Ebay in that range and I actually sold mine a few weeks back for $50.

While these are good meters, they are showing their age somewhat. The newer Fluke 110 series are running in the $100-$150 range when you shop around, so Selling these older 70 and 80 series Flukes are not going to get top dollar and are plentiful on the secondary market.

I'll second Hootbro's pricing. I have seen them a little higher locally though. They are popular. I think the major price break upward occurs with RMS meters. Non-RMS meters are cheaper. In my opinion, voltmeters don't really "age" in the conventional sense of the term but they either work or don't work, and the aesthetics or wear & tear make a difference. "Aging" for meters is more of a "capabilities" and technological factors. I picked up several from a manufacturing company going out of business and have been looking at prices carefully for various brands.

It's also important to find recent calibration stickers on them. It indicates they have been taken care of and properly calibrated, even though automotive work doesn't require it as much, it is important to see on a used meter and helps the value. Meters can cross many different needs and uses.

I agree with kc-steve. I only sold mine because I needed a frequency function. Hindsight being 20/20, I kinda wished I kept it for stuff around the house. If it is doing what you want, do not sell it.

Also, the 110 series that replaced these are Chinese made, still to normal Fluke quality, but none the less still made by a China-man and not here.

Buyer beware with calibration stickers. Unless you are 100% sure they were placed on the meter after a real calibration they ain't worth the paper they're printed on. They only cost a few dollars a roll.

True, and that is why I didn't post a photo of one. But they are easy to verify since the company that calibrated it usually shows its name on the sticker. Just pick up the phone and give 'em call if you know the person or company that purchased those services. They might even give you the low-down on that meter of what's been replaced, etc.

I am sure mine are legit because I purchased them from an aircraft instrument outsourcing company where precision was necessary.

A calibration sticker is only good for the day it was certified as having been check, nothing more. If you suspect a bad meter, you always verify it against another and go from there.

Any used meter needs to sent in anyway for calibration check if precision is paramount to the work being done by the new end user of the meter. Most companies and good techs will send a meter in every 6 months or annually anyways.

FWIW, most Flukes never really fall out of calibration when used normally. While mine was checked every 6 months for close to 10 years, it never need adjusting.
