Price per sqft

I'm a new member and I've been doing a lot of reading on all the types of flooring options, and yes there are a lot. I love in Alaska with long winters lots of snow, mild temps in summer and we don't use salt on the roads. Having a house built starting this January and I'm planning on doing the floor before we move in. It will be a three car with a small shop in the back totaling 1100sqft. I'm trying to work out a budget. Haven't seen a lot on pricing. What I have seen for say RD tiles is around $3 a square? Is epoxy similar in cost with all the prep and materials. Any advice on products for my area would be appreciated. I do love the look of the RD free flow right now.

A lot depends on what you plan to do in your garage. Is it just parking, woodwork, metal work, mechanics, all of the above?

Not so much wrenching on cars or woodworking. I'm a millwright by trade and enjoy metal working. Mostly it would be light MIG, and yes I'm wise enough to use mats or blankets in my work area if I went with RD. Mostly it's just going to be for parking and tinkering in the small shop. After reading some more post I am intrigued with the porcelain tile idea too. My concern with that is I will have floor drains in the bays, a must with Alaska winters. I'm assuming the bays will be sloped to assist with the draining. I'm not very savvy on garage flooring and layout. Does the floor have to be sloped? If so does that take tiles off the table as an option?

Thank you Jorgen, how well does RD deal with sloped floors for drains? Would they be so stiff that there would be an air gap that would increase the supposed click-clak? I've admired the RD product for sometime and think it could make that 1100 sqft look amazing.

the way our modular flooring system locks work, you should have no issue with sloping flooring and floor drains. You can actually use our open rib FreeFlow flooring over your drains along with any other style in your garage as an option.
As for sound.. as many have mentioned here on the forum, it is rarely every an issue ( less than 1% in our customers) ... but you have several options here as well. You can simply put down any synthetic landscape on your sub-floor ( never foam ) or go with our Patent RaceDeck ShockTower , which will dean garage sounds up to 30 % in addition to give anti-fatigue.
