Seems a little high to me but perhaps size is a factor or that carriage door being a more premium item. I recently received quotes from 3 local places for a 15'x7' flush panel insulated door with steel backing + liftmaster 8500. All 3 of the vendors were quoting for the same brand of door (Unique Garage Doors).

Vendor 1: Price was $2340 which included a couple hundred extra dollars for laminated glass windows. I asked if they'd include a free MyQ gateway and they said no, price as firm.

Vendor 2: Price was originally $2250 but then came back to me and said he forgot to include tax in that original price and that brought the price up by ~10%.

Vendor 3: Quoted me $1785. He was much nicer to deal with than either of the other vendors and he was the guy recommended to me by an architect friend. When asked about fixing the frame for the door (there were some rotted 2x6's) he offered to do it for dirt cheap, something like $25 extra. When he showed up the door ended up being a smooth finish flush panel which surprised me. The other vendors had a significant upcharge for smooth vs textured so between that and my fear of it scratching/denting easily I had settled on textured. But when a smooth one showed up I was pleasantly surprised.

The 3rd vendor was a last minute quote I searched out when I was having difficulty with the other two - and boy am I glad I did.

Seems about what I'm doing. I'm getting an 18x10 insulated with a Liftmaster for about $2,600. So I'd say you're good.
Although my only option was Overhead and from what I've heard they are on the high side around here.

I shopped a few doors before just going with a standard issue 16x7. The price jumped a lot once you leave that standard sizing. $800~1000+ for things in the 18 to 20' width, just plain painted steel w/o insulation as I recall.

Seems about right, lots of upgrades there. My basic low end plain insulated door was about $950 and that was 5 or 6 years ago. No upgrades, nothing special just the cheapest insulated door I could get.

I'll say same price seems right, when you get past 16' wide there is a jump in cost. Glass also adds to it. Have you looked at Polyurethane instead of polystyrene? It makes for a much stiffer door and higher R value most are steel- insulation - steel back, not the vinyl as the one you posted.
Also I'm in the market for doors and openers and have looked at the Liftmaster 8500, there has been some complaints on the unit. Don't know if it's a big deal you know how everything gets over done on the old internet, just might do some reviews or check warranty.

Give All Four Seasons a shot at this. They did my doors and gave me a great deal. It's a small company with great service. Owner came out the first time, but this was during the recession when there wasn't a lot of building going on.
