I think the time might be here for me to get a real lathe:)

Sheldon Machine Co. 56" Machinist Lathe w/ 13" swing, I think I have the right pictures of it attached.

There is an auction coming up close enough for me to venture to and was thinking on bidding on this.

Assuming its in good condition.
What yall think its worth?

I bought a south bend that is about the same size for 1200.00. It had alot of tooling with it. But i fill like i got it cheap. I have 3 and have made a liveing runing lathes. This is a very good size of a lathe.

8-15 hundred dollars. 800 for what you see in fair condition. If it has the steady and follow rest then add 2-3 hundred. If in great shape well tooled then toward the top of the price range. I have that lathe and it is a good mid quality lathe of that style. On the yahoo groups there is a Sheldon group with lots of information.
