Primer before epoxy

I've finally started planning my floor coating. My question is; Do you have to primer a new slab prior to putting down the epoxy? I'm planning on acid etching then putting down the Rustoleum 6500 100% epoxy coating. Cost wise, I would prefer not to primer, but it is "recommended" on the tech sheets.

Consider the time, effort and money required to coat a floor, I'd follow their recommendations.
