Primer question

I finished doing the primer on my floor with Wolverine BondTite 1101 but I'm unsure of the results. The floor was very clean before I put the primer down but the primer coat is not smooth. The coating looks like it has grit in it, there are fine bumps all over the floor. Is this normal with the first coat, or have I screwed up somehow.

Should I continue with the base coat or do I need to wait and sand the floor smooth? I contacted Alpha Garage but Fred hasn't gotten back to me yet. I am hoping for some help from the experts on the forum. I have to make the decision on what to do today.

Heard back from Fred and ugly coat is definitely the correct description. I am good to go, with nothing to worry about, so the LiquaTile coat and flakes go on this afternoon. If I had had to do anything more to this floor I would be looking for a good divorce lawyer!!

Could be that your roller is leaving a bunch of fuzzies as well. But if it going to be flaked, don't worry about it. Just make sure you use a high end non-delaminating roller for your top coat. Good luck.

I had a similar occurrence when I was first learning. My first floor had what sounds like the same issues as yours. The consensus was that it was caused from me trying to be perfect and had back rolled one too many times when the floor was starting to tack up. It didn't create any problems though and the color coat was smooth as could be.
