Yes! A lot of ProPoints air tools are rebranded Kuani out of Taiwan. I bought their hammer head impact and it's awesome. I just wish they would bring in their impact ratchets that they make.

Will for that price, and a endorsement like that how could I go wrong?

To me it looks more like the Astro than a Kuani:

No idea. But the Kuani might be a little different. That Propoint has a different cap on it. When I bought my hammer head from PA, tucked in the back of the user manual had (Kuani of taiwan) I'm going to buy the Propoint version as it looks great and if i'm not happy, they'll refund all my money. You can't lose.

You'd have to dig through their site and look.

What Is the rated loosening torque on that thing

Specs say 180 ft/lbs forward/reverse. It's great for brake caliper bolts where the gun can't fit in. Also, for upper and lower ball joints.

I picked up the stubby impact last night. Was a bit of a hassle to get it, the local store is in the middle of restocking shelves and the place was crawling with staff who were not keen on helping. They only had two, and were on a skid somewhere, but I did manage to walk out with one.

I couldn't find any clues about manufacturer in the manual, which looks identical to the PDF one from the PA website. Box says Made in Taiwan.

It's pretty loud. Seems to have plenty of power, had no trouble on my "bolt through a 2x4" unscientific test. I like the design and the minimum of plastic stuff to break and lose.

I find this is the case every time I go in there. There are a couple of really nice staff members that go the extra mile, I deal with them. Most times, the place is a ghost town.

I have been to at least 5 different Pa in ON and BC

And 90% of staff plain ****
They run away from you and hide in slow isles

I find that your best option is the store manager

After many google searches and a surprising number of other suppliers, I think I found who makes the stubby impact gun:

http://www.airprotool.com/sa22068.html

Airpro Industry Corp. seems to be the trade name of the company, Airprowu is their house brand and Airbest Industry Corp. is the name that appears on their ISO certificate.

Fit and finish look right, some of the numbers match up (weights, CFM/torque ratings, etc). Color is obviously different, and the Pro Point version doesn't have a rubber handle. The Astro does, and it's got the same graphic for the parts breakdown.

Lots of green socket racks at Princess Auto today. Did I mention they were green?

Plus they had Fluid Film, which I've never seen there.

Got lucky last weekend at their big sale. I got there at 8 am. It was raining so I ended up second in line. Was able to buy one of two 7000 watt generators for $350.00.

Lookin at the blue 41" SPG International tool boxes that are on sale, top 399 bottom 599, just not liking the top having the stupid cubby hole.

Alternative is a Mastercraft 30" that is cheaper for top, middle and bottom which probably all I need after the cupboards go up.

I saw a galvanized metal "cube" toolbox with 4 drawers. Priced at $300. Made in Canada. Heavy gauge steel and looked like good full length slides. The boxes stack easily. If I was in the market for work toolbox I'd take a close look.

SPG's 42" value series (VRB 4211, VRT4210) are definitely a better buy. Amazon shows the price out the door at $877.00 if you can wait for it to ship.

I have the bottom in that set already and I like it thus far (just shy of a year of homeowner use). It seems plenty strong for what I use it for.

The first link is just wide drawers, I've got the two banks of drawers (23 and 12 wide, I believe they are) much like the Stanley rebranded setup you just posted.

Thoughts on the new website ? I can't get the new flyer on it

Flyer is working OK for me on IE.

http://www.princessauto.com/en/current-flyer

Both versions of the flyer work, but I usually prefer the PDF download.

They do however need to put a delay in the mouseover on the "shop" menu. Bit annoying moving from the address bar down to the page, hovering over "shop" for .1 second and having the menu pop up.

I swung by Princess Auto the other day and am now sold on the Costco one ordered up the week before I finish my Fort Mac shutdown, going up Tuesday.

I just not sure if I want blue as it looks like the blue ones at Princess are not the same blues at Costco as eventually I want to add the side International box to mine. Black would match my welding table box.

Guess i need to go check these out tomorrow....

Well pro point is their top line. And their impact sockets have been stellar, which are grey pneumatic or sunnex rebrand cro-mo Taiwan. It will be interesting to see what rebranding the chrome sockets are. From the shape of the taper, they "look" like blue-point/Williams Taiwan.

We'll have to see.

I am intrigued by the SPG 56" Value series (SPG calls it Tech series now). The problem is that there is no place you can actually see one and gauge the quality. Are the drawer edges rolled? Any other comments you can make on the quality would be appreciated. The other option is a quick trip to Buffalo for a HF 56" but after exchange, taxes etc., you're looking at $1700.
