Anyone have issues with that Grip COB pen light that was on sale a few weeks back? The beam keeps on cutting out of the light is shaked or jostled around. Happened with both of the ones I picked up, poor contact probably. Will stick a spacer in or wrap the AA's.

You should have invited all your "friends" from GJ! :lol_hitti

I was in the Mississauga one on Tuesday, it was busy, busy, busy. Of course it was the first day of the new sale when it's busier than normal.

....

A good friend got a job there back when they were hiring in the summer. he had 5 coupons to let friends & family in on Friday night last week. actually, anyone that knew the store was open could come in.
I heard on opening day at 6:00 AM there was about 100 people lined up waiting for the store to open :shocking:

400 Lumen Cree LED Rechargeable Compact Flashlight - $28

http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/400-lumen-cree-led-rechargeable-compact-flashlight/A-p8587487e

I have to say its a pretty good light for the price, the included battery and charger not so much.

I put the 2200mah battery on my xtar vc4 charger right out the package and when fully charged, the meter read 722mah. Good thing I got some really good 18650 batteries already. My LG 18650 is rated at 3000mah but in reality its about 2400mah

A good friend started working there part time when they opened in ST Catharines. he gave it to me on the condition I use it... not sure if there's some type of employee incentive thing going on too?

Anyone have any experience with the stainless steel table currently on sale for $149?

http://www.princessauto.com/en/detail/stainless-steel-table/A-p8683179e

Thinking it might make a good start for my engine building table (VW engines, basically I lay out all the parts on the table but build on a stand), and a second one for my fab-bench (currently using an old Crappy-Tire $30 "workbench" so anything is an upgrade.

Princess Auto is a 5.5 hour round trip for me, so I don't want to pick up a pair only to discover they are flimsy and worthless. Though, for the price, I think the Stainless Steel top might be worth the buy even if I have to build my own wooden bench?

I haven't had experience with it but seems they are advertising it near the meat/game processing section so might be light gauge SS

No table set up in PA tonight. Sorry! From the picture it looks alright, but I wonder about the thickness of the stainless. I've seen a fair few table tops in stainless that are very thin. If you were overlaying it on a solid wood bench you may be ok, as long as you don't beat on it to hard.

I would be interested in it for a wine processing table! Easy to clean!

Take a look at Costco. They've got some awesome workbenches. At least my Sherwood park one has.

These Plier racks are on for $5. Great deal. Wouldn't mind if the spacing was a tad tighter, but I have not seen a rack similar to this for this price.

Drove down to PA Victoria today. They didn't have any of the SS tables opened that I could look at, so I decided to pass. It may work well has a top on a well built wooden bench, but I was worried it would be too lightweight for what I'm planning.

A few good deals I picked up today:

327pc Titanium Coated Drill Bit Set $99.99 - I use the 115 set which is regularly 99 bucks with my milling machine. If you don't yet have a drill bit set that includes all the Letter sized bits, definitely buy one! (and use a drill bit size chart)

2 pairs of welding gloves - $19.99. Can't find them on the website, but I use welding gloves for both welding and fabricating with angle grinders (grinding, cutting, etc). Instead of guards on the angle grinder, which always seem to be in the way, I simply wear welding gloves. $10/pair is a good deal.

12-Outlet Aluminum Power Bar - $14.99 I think this is a good price? Great for mounting under the lip of a work bench, or on the wall above one. Picked up two.

You should leave the guard on, when a disk ruptures you'll be glad.

Of the six angle grinders I have, 50% keep the guard and 50% don't. When you're working on race cars, you simply can't keep the guard on for every job. It's a calculated risk, and one I'm comfortable with. Similar to skydiving, some people see it as perfectly acceptable, while others consider it to be insane.

From my experience cut off disks don't hurt too much when they go flying
But don't think its the same for grinding discs
Always wear glove eye/ face protection
Just not worth it

It looks like if a guy bought that drill set, he'd be set for life!

I need one of these for my new bike. I've only had Battery Tender brand before. This seems like a good price for $40.

Unless you can't fit and need the guard off, or don't have a proper tool then that's different, but generally it's a bad idea to take the guards off. I've seen firsthand and it ain't pretty
