Was in princess auto couple days ago seen this tool box. Anyone have it? Any reviews or feedback??
Im more interested in the top but i would buy the bottom aswell to go with the top. It appears to come with 4 swivel casters. But that can be fixed. I hate 4 swivels. Needs 2 ridgid, 2 swivel. The lower set of sockets pulls out as a drawer

I had a quick look at them the other day. Not bad at all. Drawers move super smooth, and best of all. MADE IN CANADA. BCD

I seen the Toolcube before. Well built square boxes that are stackable.

Done some research and they are made by Infocus Manufacturing in Manitoba.

I havent seen the top like that one but the toolcubes look interesting if a bit small.

FYI Crappy tire has the Dewalt 52" made in Canada boxes for like $450 off right now. $699 top, $799 bottom. 18/20ga steel. Also some of the 48" Maximum boxes (made in Canada??) are on Clearance like 60% off too (in that $450 ballpark). Just happened to notice when I was in looking for something else today.

Reviving this thread!

A mechanic/contractor I watch on Youtube (Jpaydirt) has been using a Tool Crown box for a little while. It was given to him by a viewer. On his current video, he now has a couple more. Not sure if he purchased them or they were given, but they look pretty sweet all painted up in Cat colours! Jeff seems pretty happy with the quality.

Ive seen them in Princess and they look decent albeit a little crude. Seem like you can jam a lot of tools into them, even if their footprint is so small. If they had a glossy bright paint job over the plain galvanized theyre selling at PA, I bet theyd sell 2x as many. Extreme Green would be awesome.

Apparently there is a new e-store on the way for the US market, so I expect to hear more about them in the near future.

This should be the point where he talks about the boxes, if not, skip to 25:25

Definitely a different kind of box than any I've seen before. I'd be interested in what they cost in USD if/when they get that e-store going. [Looks like $500 CAN currently = under $400 USD] He mentions they are available with a full set of tools. Will they also be offered without them (he might have said so & I just don't recall)? What's the verdict on the quality of said tools? Depending on the cost I could possibly see this getting on the short-list of gifts for my boy.

Im curious about the pre-installed toolkit too. Id imagine that they would be offering it both ways, with tools and without.

I can see the complete kit being a selling point for industrial maintenance or apprentices as an example.

Tool Brand? If I was to guess I wouldnt be at all surprised to see it come with either Powerfist of ProPoint tools. Both are princess auto house brands. Tool Crown seems to have a close link to Princess Auto. PA is a national retailer for the brand and Tool Crown is based only about 30km from Princesses' head office in Winnipeg.

Powerfist is about the same as a HF brand, while ProPoint is considerably better, easily as good as (and also rebrands tools from) the other Taiwan tool brands like Gearwrench, Sunnex, Astro etc.

I haven't seen that one before, but random stuff like this is what makes Princess Auto interesting.

Check the toolbox section of the store or website if youre interested. Dartmouth has a couple different Tool Crown setups in the toolbox/front door areas. Some with the full top stack (like jpaydirt) some with the bamboo top. Unfortunately all are galvanized, and compared to the other painted boxes around them they look cheap and crude by comparison (even if they are probably higher quality construction)

The top cab is pretty neat really. It has built in tool pegs and storage which helps jam way more tools (like sockets) into a much smaller footprint. Socket pegs trays like Hansen trays eat up a ton of realestate in a box.

Big problem with the brand I see is there is nothing out there showing the benefits of t he box. Even Paydirts vids dont show that much and the company website is horrible. They need to step up their advertising game to get their name out there IMHO.

I looked at them a few months ago and really liked them I am thinking about picking one up for a road box. I do wish they had some painted ones at PA though as they do look way better
