Pro Body Tools? (Auto Body Hammers)

I've been reading on this site for awhile and finally joined

Just wondering if there are any body men on this forum familiar with these? They look like some high quality hammers and dollies. I believe the manufacturer is 'Mechanics Time Saver'. Just need some opinions. They don't list COO so I assume they must be asian?

They are Taiwanese made tools. Not saying that is a bad thing. These are the same tools that Matco is now selling as their line of Body Hammers and Dollies, so the quality should be good. I have not used these tools as I feel there are too many USA made hammers out there to consider these at the time. If you are looking for some body hammer or dollies, contact me by in box.

Right now Martin Tool is the king and they do private label for Cornwell, Mac and others, the second tier would be StreamLine or Majestic which are from the same company.
Martin can be found online at their Martin Tool and forge site which they are part of Martin Sprocket co.

Thanx for the heads up, that's interesting about Matco re-branding them. I agree I'd feel much for comfortable buying some martin, snap-on or vintage US made hammers/dollies. But they do look very nice. I'll shoot you a PM.

My first choice would be Martin, but I really like the Snap-on Cross peen. Much better than Martin IMO. ***** being poor LOL!

Martin makes a good product, but if you can afford Snap-on new or used, they are by far my favorite Body hammers due to the balance and Octagonal handle

I prefer Martin hammers myself. I have used the Snap Ons and I didn't care a whole lot for the handles, I prefer the fiberglass handles of the Martin or similar make. I have small hands though so that might be as to why I like the smaller handle, plus I have yet to break a fiberglass handle.

You cant beat the feel or price of old american body mans hammers (proto,fairmount,snapon ,PF exc) I wouldn't waste my time on those hammers posted above. Dollies on the other hand Are prolly just fine. The way I look at it is I'm the one who has to swing this hammer all day It better have a nice feel.

The dollies look exactly like rebadged Martin...?

& the really bizarre deal is that ALL the wooden hammers have EXACTLY the same wood grain... LOL!!

something about snap on body hammers, they just feel right to me. i tried to like martin hammers, but i don't.

Im with u guys on this. love snap on, green handle proto, martin etc. But if u didnt read matco is rebrandin these so they must be good. as long as the forginh and steel is right then why not im gunna pick up one hammer and a dolly at some point and ill do a review. I found a site that has em cheap.

I feel like a doofus, I've been buying Marting sprockets for 30 years and never equated that the Martin service wrenches were made by the same company. Now I go to there website and see that they make a whole line of tools, sometimes I just amaze myself with my stupidity.

Correction, upon reviewing Martin's sockets and ratchets I say they are made by Wright, which Wright does list Martin service wrenches in their catalog.
