Ok guys, someone must know something about ProAmerica tools.

I have a new combo wrench set that I picked up at a pawn shop a while back. They look to be good quality, are a satin finish, and are made in the USA. I've searched the internet but haven't come up with much except a few precision pliers. Sorry, just thought about it, so no pics yet. Thanks

Some one mentioned on here once that they were made by Blackhawk if I remember correctly.

I think ProAmerica is a trademark of American Kal Enterprises, Inc.

I'm surprised they are manufactured domestically...

Well, you guys got further than I was able to, but I still haven't found any info regarding their wrenches or any other hand tools they sell. I still can't find anyone selling any of their tools except for some pliers. Now I'm really curious.....

I've gotten ProAmerica stuff in several different government surplus lots. Surprised me as I always thought it was more Craftsman equivalent then anything.

You know, now that you mention it, I think I will agree with you on this. The drive portion of my wrenches look like C-man (the raised panel ones) but the body of the wrench is more like the new Kobalt wrenches (rough satin finish). They seem like good wrenches, but I would expect something a little bit more along the lines of Snap-on quality for government contracts.

Uh oh, how did those brand new wrenches end up at the pawn shop if they don't sell them through normal retail channels and they are mostly ordered by government agencies, etc.? I don't want to think about it.

The only thing that makes me feel better is that they sat on the shelf for a very long time before I bought them, which would have given any interested party a chance to find them (if that's possible).

The only Proamerica tools I've ever seen have been in Government tool kits. Did your wrench set come in a red vinyl roll? is there an NSN (national stock Number) on the roll or pouch? I always thought they were rebadged Blackhawk. At one time, you could lay a us made blackhawk wrench, a Husky wrench, and a proamerica satin finished wrench side by side and the only thing different was the name.

Boy you are good!! You're right about the red viny roll and number. And now that you mention it, it does have the feel of the slightly older style Husky wrenches that I've seen. How would this be if they are not made by Stanley? Or are they, hmmm?
