Put a piece of thin heat shrink over the end of your probe and shrink it away from the tip, this should give you enough wiggle room to slide it onto the pin you want to test. I t might take a couple of goes to get the size you're looking for.

That sounds like a plan.

Check aeswave.com. that's where I uy all my scope stuff. I have a small set that came with my modis and I have a small collection of pins and sockets from old connectors I have taken apart

Thanks, do you know if some auto stores would have Deutsch connectors?
You will be hard pressed to find anything at an auto parts store however most dealers have a box of pins for rebuilding these connectors and they are dirt cheap.

I have a friend that does remote starts and he says a lot of the wiring is smaller than 22-24 gauge on some newer cars.
