Yes, you're right about the meter range, '1' in this case means 'out of range'. Set it higher than the voltage you expect to see.

A lot of things can be checked without power, using the continuity or resistance settings on your meter.

You can check if the coil is open.

The coil just pulls the contactor in, same as when you push it with your finger. You should be able to confirm continuity between L1 and T1 as well as between L2 and T2 when it's pushed/pulled in.

#10 NM-b is too small if u care about NEC code.

5HP motor needs 35a rated wire(28a FLC from table x 125% = 35a)

U need #10 THWN in pipe or #8/2 NM-b. #10/2 NM-b is limited to 30a.

The neutral conductor as u know is unneeded so that was a waste of money.

Looks like u have white wire coming off the T2 terminal.

This should be changed to some color other than white or green- typically black or red.

Also need to do that for the pressure switch. white should never be used as an ungrounded conductor. Again, if u care about code.

The snap switch can be used in-line with the pressure switch. Looks like u used #10 to the snap switch and the PS. Thats overkill as well since #14 wouldve sufficed because the current for the coil is very low.

For the meter u need to put it on a setting thats equal to or greater than the voltage youre measuring. 200v is too low since youre measuring 240v. Thats why you saw the 1, which means out of range.

Remeasure the L1/L2 lugs and report back.

Have u tried manually pushing in on the contactor?

So, thanks all for the inputs..... I did finally figured out the issue. I had the pressure switch wires crossed within the magnetic starter box. Whereas the white wire should have been above and the black should have been below. In my video the pressure switch wires that I spoke to were in the wrong position and in that configuration the hot was on the wrong side of the pressure switch. I'm still confused how I did that but I did noneed the less. It's all working now and cutting out like it's supposed to.
As for the wire size....appears that I may have undersized that a bit. I'll have to ponder that. Thanks to all for the replies.. I needed some GJ backup.

that makes no sense.

Reversing the colors changed absolutely nothing to the setup.

The connections on the PS are the same as are the connections on the coil and L1 terminal.

We'll all I did was swap them in the switch box...and that contactor drop in so.....it's working now is all I can attest to. I do thank you for helping me.
