Problem With Garage Door Opener

I have a Lift Master garage door opener. Several weeks ago I heard a crunch and the door stopped working. I discovered a broken coupler between the motor and door screw. Replaced that and everything seemed fine. However, now when I press the open button the remote the door opens about 10" and stops. Hit the button again and it closes. Hit the button one more time and the door opens completely but seems to slam into the open at the top harder than it used to. Any suggestions on what is going on? When I replaced the coupler I did drop the opener and arm down quite a bit.

sounds like the sensitivity controls which sets the force needed, if your door is heavy or the springs become weak that can cause the opener to stop, the motor coupler broke, could be working the opener to hard.

With the door disconnected from the opener, is it balanced, meaning does it open easily and if opened half way does it stay there.
