Spool won't feed? It just clicks when I press the trigger. I pulled the cover and checked for binding and nothing. I removed the wire spool and clicked the trigger and still, nothing. All it does is click, click, click. Any ideas? :headscrat

If it is a tapped voltage unit try switching between voltages. Sometimes the voltage switch will not fully engage and the welder will not work.

Also you can try calling Hobart's help line if my suggestion above does not help. The brand name welder companies all have awesome tech support. I used Lincolns tech support once and was blown away by their help, I was talking with a live individual in a minute or so that spoke clear English, was on the same continent as me, and sure knew his stuff.

This x100000. My Miller voltage selector went out, they walked me though the whole procedure for checking it before buying the new part. I think I was on hold a total of 30sec both times I called! AWESOME CS from the big 3 welders is worth the extra money!

I wasn't getting wire feed on my hh140 when I was on the number 2 voltage setting. I called the help number and they were very helpful. For me a wire was disconnected from the voltage selector switch.

I would try to change the voltage, make sure that the knob clicks into place.

Remember miller owns Hobart i think 5 or 6 years now so if its fairly new its a miller inside just a different case but a better price. And both Hobart and miller forums are the Best.

Miller and Hobart are separate companies owned by the same parent.
While they do share a lot of parts as far as I know the only 2 machines that are identical are the stickmate and the thunderbolt, one white jacket, one blue, built on the same line.

Think of the Miller as a bit more of a Cadillac,,, with this auto set a 6 speed automatic transmission vs a 5 speed manual in the Hobart. They put a few more premium features on the Millers, in truth, in this small class of machine I actually like the manual most of the time. I like the taps over the variable voltage on some units even, so easy to repeat, use the same settings vs trying to fiddle with the V knob to get it back.
My little red one has a 5 speed, use 3 settings, thin, medium and thick, don't have to test it every time I make a change, just pick and play.

I had the same issue with my Hobart 135 wire feed. After a bit of troubleshooting and not finding the cause of the problem I called tech support and performed a few tests they suggested. Turns out I had to replace the circuit board to get it working again. I got a decent price from a local welding supply and had the board in a 2 days. Fairly simple replacement job (I took a few pictures just to make sure I hooked it all back up correctly).
