Sandy caught me I in the middle of my epoxy flooring for my garage !

I have stained and put down the initial layer of epoxy when Sandy came, well cold weather hit after Sandy went by. I have been trying to come up with a solution for getting some heat in my garage to finnish up when we got a little warmer weather here. So yesterday I sanded the initial coat, wiped it down with denatured alcohol and rolled out the second layer of epoxy. temperature was 60 and humidity was 60.

After we finished rolling it out we noticed the epoxy wasn't drying evenly as if the alcohol had not dried. There were round spots where the epoxy was pushed away. There is noting I could do at that point but wait.

The temperature dropped into the 40's and hit the dew point so when I got home the ground was wet, but I had fans blowing on the floor and all looked well. This morining I could tell the spots were noticeable and seemed the epoxy didn't cover well, but the floor was shiny but still tacky. Now it is dryer but still not able to walk on but has developed some 'blueing' near the garage door.

After the Hurricane water blew against my garage door and afterwards the water that layed on my first coat and the floor recieved that 'blueing' affect, but it wiped up.
Because of the unevenness of the second coat I was hoping to put down a 3rd layer since i have some extra epoxy.

What are your thoughts?

not sure of the blueing but it sounds like the floor had something still on it causing fisheyes. Make sure the what you wipe down the floor with is free of contaminants. I would wait till its dry enough to walk on and reassess.

Also what product did you use? Sounds like the mixture wasn't completely mixed.

It's dusk and it still has not dried. Parts of the floor look a little better, possibly because it has dried? Time will tell.

Tomorrow is supposed to be nice. I was hoping to be done - epoxy and urethane. I'll just have to reevaluate.

The floor has dried but its still noticeable. It almost seems the blueing is nearer where I used the fans to help the drying.

It looks much better today though!

Today the humidity went down so when I returned from work I couldn't see anything was wrong with it unless you stand directly over the bad spots.

I am going to have to wait until I can get some heat in the floor before i can finish it, so it will need scuffing. Maybe I can get some of it out with sand paper, then put my final coats on.

Terp, this is moisture. It will dissipate. The added moisture from the environment will delay the cure. Wait it out and scuff the entire floor , solvent wipe and then coat again.
