problem with propane cylinder

Okay guys, there is still propane in the cylinder (20# bottle) but none comes out. Is there a safety I have missed? Can the OPD get messed up?

You did try opening the valve real slow? Is what its hooked up to turned off? Those valves have a built in safety that cuts of the fuel flow incase of a leak.

That is what I was wondering.
Should it reset and allow the appliance to work once the valve / regulator are hooked back up?

Is it the newer style cylinders?

If so,No propane will come out unless it is hooked up to the regulator.

Like triplethreat says, a lot of the regulators on newer propane applieances have a low flow safety feature. This link discusses them and how to correct the condition:
