Problem with speed of site

Is anyone else having troublel with the speed of this site? Sometimes it takes forever to load, and even the individual threads will load slow. I'm on dsl, and most sites run pretty fast.

I have 100 meg download speed, and yes the site is sometimes slower than stop. And you have to realize it may be experiencing heavy usage and this site is probably not in the upper tier of internet service speed... But it's still frustrating sometimes.

I noticed it yesterday too, but you've got to remember that nearly the entire world has New Years day off, and other than hangovers nobody is doing anything, hopefully all the family holiday **** is over, so everyone if on the the 'net.
I'll bet this site's traffic was way up.

Loading the main page is usually super quick for me.

Loading sub-forums is super quick also.

When I click on an individual thread though - it usually slows down. Very interesting, I have not seen this behavior on other forums.

I thought I was the only one ! I can go over to Ebay and it loads in 3-4 secs. and here it takes longer than normal and with no ads like ebay

yep, slow here sometimes, too

edit: it took 4-5 seconds for the above to go through.

edit2: The first edit was instant. Like I said, it's hit and miss here.

Slow on first opening of GJ on my phone for the day. No issues with the PC.
There has to be something running in the background because when I surf here on my phone it kills battery faster than any other site I will use.

A year or two ago this site was really bad. I wouldn't even bother logging on after 7 knowing it wouldn't work for a *************. I blamed my internet because had been going down hill at a steady pace for sometime. Then one day I wen to log on and the site was closed for system upgrade. It has been pretty good since then. My internet ***** even worse now and it this sit still works well
