I've been working on repairing some damaged wood in my garage. I needed to replace some wood around the door opening. I replaced a 2x6 (seen here) and a 1x4 and 3.5" wide strip of 3/8 ply where the door track is mounted.
Track is plumb, door works fine, and the 2x4 wall is the same one that was there before so I was surprised to see the gap taper like this. The mark on the door from the old weather stripping looks plumb and even. Paint mark on the trim header looks like the old 2x6 was kicked out slightly. I think I can kick out the 2x6 with a plywood spacer, but I didn't see one when I demo'ed the old trim. The old 2x6 is just a 2x6.
Any one have suggestions as to a better solution, or guesses on what I did wrong here?
Thanks,
Shephd
