Problems with US General toolbox..

I found a deal online for a 44" US General 44" with side locker, side cab, and top chest for $500.

I was hoping to swap the bottom two drawers, with the top drawer pictured.

Apparently they are different sizes..
I was just wondering if anyone figured out a way to work around this?
The slides on the drawers are riveted in, and i tried removing the slides from the box itself, however they are pretty difficult to remove, and can't find a tutorial anywhere to remove them..

The drawers from the side cab wont fit the chest either, I moved the drawer in the top chest up one slot, and moved the single slide drawer down because I need that drawer to be shallow... But I'd much rather prefer the uniformity of all shallows on the top, and the deeps down below.

If I remember correctly drawers are not interchangeable between the top and bottom at all. That's just what I remember reading somewhere. Someone will chime in if they have done it.

I need to agree. It's not a simple swap. You need to drill the slides out and remount them depending on the drawer you are using. Then of course you change one drawer you will need to change more. It's absolutely doable, but will require sometime. There is the thread above and there is also another pic in the show your toolbox thread towards then last few pages IIRC.
