Hey everyone

I'm entering the final stretch of my garage build and am struggling to plan out the garage door trim out for the doors.

The garage is going to be all brick veneer. My portal walls are 7 1/4" thick and my rough opening is 9'3" wide.

I've been trying to look at Royal Moldings PVC details to figure it out, but may have thought way too much about it.

Do I use PT 2x8s to get myself to a true 9' opening? Which PVC trim do I use? The big box stores only carry a nominal 6" wide PVC jamb.

Any thoughts?

I'm also going to need to do the same thing this coming year. I've been looking at various products including Hardie trim and PVC materials, but it seems that neither of those products come in the thickness I'm going to need. I'm also going to be painting all of it, which is steering me away from pressure treated lumber. I should be able to use smaller PVC trim board to mount the weather stripping to though.

I'm gone ahead and put 2x8s in the jamb, I plan on using 7 1/4" PVC trim board and a brick molding to complete it prior to brick on Wednesday
