Hello everyone! I really need all your help, opinions, and expertise. I have recently purchased a warehouse style building that I am renovating and converting into my dream garage. If you look at the pictures attached, you can see that I am planning to sub divide the whole building and rent half out to a tenant, And with my half of the building, I am planning to divide it as well. The right side will occupy car storage and the remaining left side will be a showroom style facility with offices and a place where I can pull one or two cars in, to show off. This room will also incorporate couches and a sitting area for car viewing and sales.
In this post I am trying to determine the proper flooring for my application. Currently the building has level concrete flooring that has been painted over in gray paint. It is definitely not an epoxy coat. There are outlets located in the flooring. I have been researching and also reading up on this website, but I am still unclear as to what material to use. I would like to use the same material throughout the car storage side as well as the showroom so keep that in mind. On the car storage side, I will constantly be moving cars in and out and detailing, cleaning and working on small projects in there. There will also be heavy car lifts on top of the floor. On the showroom side, cars will only occasionally be pulled in and out but there will be a reasonable amount of foot traffic going through. I definitely like the checkerboard designs that are capable with a “Racedeck” type flooring. What I am really looking for is the floor that will hold up the best and stay reasonably clean without constant attention and make the cars look as good as possible. Nothing, that will be marred by turning tires. I will definitely not be doing any heavy automotive work (welding, hoisting engines, plasma cutting ect.) So the floors will not have to be resilient to that stuff. My budget is not endless, but i am willing to pay for the right type of flooring. What’s that right way to go guys?
Hope my pictures are clear and helpful
Thanks Everyone
P.S.- If you see my other similar post about garage Lifts please feel free to comment and help me out thanks.
