Hi, I am getting someone from Rustoleum services via home depot to come in give me a quote on my garage. I am getting the best system they offer.

Epoxy Shield Ultra (Best) - This heavy-duty two-part epoxy coating is a 3-layer system with a primer, a basecoat and a clear coat. It is virtually immune to abrasion, impact and chemicals. It's available in 20 colors and carries a three-year warranty.

According to the flyer they use 2 coats of 100% solids epoxy and a clear coat and claim that its not the instore products they use.

Does anyone have any experience with this system or have it done, if so how has it held up?

I am also having somebody from this site to give me a quote for a 2 layer 100% solids epoxy and ureathane clear coat. as they are local

http://www.floorepoxy.com/

Does anyone have any experience with these guys and their products?

Thanks in advance!!!

At one point I was in negotiations with Orange to do this service. The down side was they wanted 24% from each job. They allowed anyone to buy into their system at $3500.00 per store. Most of them are painters trying to make a few extra $. I bowed out as it did not sound like a group I wanted to get involved with. Find out how warranty works. Can you go to Orange or the sub that put it in? Who holds the warranty? What if the sub no longer does this? This goes through another company then the sub. It is a long line to stand in if there are any problems woukd be my concern.

I did HD install with Rustoleum premium. Search for my pics for more info. Coming up on one year November 20th. No issues except the garage had a smell WAY longer then they told me it would.

The http://www.floorepoxy.com/ install guy came today. He recommended a 65% solids epoxy base coat (no primer, US industrial coatings brand) and 2 65% solids 2 part clear Ureathane. Both the epoxy and Ureathane are solvent based. He wants 2600 for a 27x27 garage (includes removing the old behr paint and surface prep).

Says thats what a lot of garages use for their system, how does that sound?

If you are going to spend that kind of money I would want 100 percent solids with a primer and a 100 percent solids clear coat to seal in chips.

Sounds reasonable but, you don't mention prep. Will they grind the current floor? Mine was 100% solvent with poly clear.

Rustoleum services got back to me on monday. For my garage (about 550 sq feet, guess I measured wrong) its about about $2700 before taxes which includes

Floor prep with diamond pad grinders and some divit filling, 50% (or so) Epoxy primer, 100% Expoxy solid, Granite look vinyl chips, 2 part Ureathane with anti-slip, all supposedly solvent based with 3 year warranty. (about $4.50 a square foot)

This is the 'Ultra' that is advertised in HD with pamphlets. The people doing it Seem pretty professional and are affiliated with these guys

I am pretty sure I am going with them.

have you thought about doing it yourself ? I'm doing my second floor (using wolverine) and it's not that difficult, although saying its fun is probably a bit optimistic.

Normally I would but I sort of want to get this done before winter sets in and I am notoriously slow in my projects, took me 3 weeks to build a shed behind the garage and move my compressor outside to it.
