I try to buy Made In USA, but it isn't always easy. But I bought some Milwaukee Shockwave Bits it says, "Professionally Made in China". Wonder what the just "Made in China" quality is like. Maybe I'm a ****, but it made me chuckle a little. So if you have to buy some made in china....I guess I would go with the sh*t that is "Professionally Made In China".

i think so long as the 'made in china' phrase is uninterrupted, they can do what they want at the beginning or end. I've seen 'made in china to irwin specification' or some silly ****.

it still says made in china, or made in taiwan, or whatever. that's the part that matters.

I'm not sure who started using the phrase on their tools "professionally made in China," but most of the tools using it that I've seen have been sold at Home Depot. I believe Hilti uses it because they set up their own factory, with their own equipment, and management to oversee production. Other companies have also set up their own production facilities.

I would have go with made in cz or germany for the high impact bits over the shockwaves. The shockwaves are better then standard impact bits, but the wera impactor or the wiha tirmanators are a lot better in longevity.

But that said, guess milwaukee is try to upscale the made in china name. As pretty everything they make now is made there. Their fuel stuff is marketed for pros and high end buyers. So they are adding the professional to make it sound a better more high end.

Cause it said this

Sunny makes great equipment. I'm pretty sure the deal with that is because the 'made in taiwan' section is not misleading, they can say whatever else they want on the label.

Yes the german ones are better, but of all the made in china bits, I think I officially like the shockwave the best. a few months ago I picked up some marked way down to $5 per set, thinking they were going to be the same disposable junk that I had got previously from them. Those are still going and even at regular price (or 'regular sale' price) they're not a bad deal.

Way more cost effective than the makita or dewalt impact bits. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if both of those are just regular bits with paint on them.

Taiwan is to China what Texas is to US? They both think they are their own country.

The Taiwan depute is even more complex then the Colonies and Britain in 1776. The colonies paid taxes to the British. Taiwan has never paid taxes to the PRC. Taiwan is an allied nation of the US. The US will defend Taiwan if China invades. And the US Military regularly train Taiwan Soldiers and preforms training exercise with Taiwan which always pisst the PRC off.

This sure has come full circle in last 30 years, as decades ago Made In Taiwan meant it was ****. Now, that's not so as Taiwan has upped their game!!

China is now the world leader in production of ****.

*All of this is with the exception of Japan, the only Asian country that actual makes competitive quality to USA and EU*

Taiwan is leading the Revolution over in Asia in terms of quality. China will follow after a few years later, and then we will all be complaining about the Craftsman stuff that is made in India (HF is already starting to switch some products to India made stuff, which makes the Chinese HF tools look like Snap On).

Just fine. That company makes good products. Mater of fact they are one of the best.
If you think that Americans are the only ones that can make anything good you need to rethink things.

I remember when Japan tools and cars come to the US, same were said about their quality. Then when Taiwan came with tools, they were blasted tool. But like Japan, they up their game. And now makes some good quality tools. China has been over the last couple of years upping their quality as well. India will take some time. You have decent quality Chinese stuff out on the market. But I still have not run into a quality made in India tool yet.

Milwaukee makes good tools in china, but they are selling most their tools in the US. And they came out with the "professionally made in China" to up scale the marketing image. Personally I think it is silly, the shockwave bits are good quality and there is really no need to slap a the professionally made in China on it. Just made in China is all it needs.

Don't forget South Korea. Alot of the EU countries make low quality stuff or lack the capability to make stuff. US don't make all high quality stuff either.

Actually you bring up a good point. I just realized, I have really never seen a major South Korean tool brand. Hyundai where **** cars with the excel back in the days, but now they make a pretty nice quality car. Same with Kia, their compact SUV is allot of bang for the buck with good quality.

Yes EU countries makes some low quality stuff also. Look at Fiat and Lancia, not the best quality cars out there. ;)

I bought a adjustabe wrench the other day that was marked MADE ON PLUTO.

Much better than "professionally made in china."

Plutonians make very high-quality products, but ever since the IAU reclassified it as a minor planet, the UPS rates for shipping have gotten astronomical.

When we get to "Made in Zimbabwe" we'll know that we've exhausted all other options.

Advance Auto was selling combo wrench sets made in India 3 or 4 years ago. They were branded as "Toolworks" and they were total trash. 20 wrenches for $9.99. I looked at two sets and several of the box ends in each set had no teeth at all or were missing teeth.

Buddy of mine bought a set to keep in his sammy.
