Profusion Heater

Has anyone any experience with this? I have 500sqft 12' ceilings and wonder if this work well. Also, they do not recommend a remote thermostat or on/off switch and that would make it difficult to turn on and off (except for the breaker).

Works well, would be adequate, but not efficient. Had one prior to hooking up propane.

I don't heat my garage all the time. Mostly a few hours a few evenings a week or during the daytime on weekend. Our winters typically low's would be in the 20's. Should be ok?

I considered a nat gas heater since I have a line nearby, but after the cost to purchase and install might take a while to re-coop savings.

Thoughts?

I had that exact heater in my 720sq ft x 10' ceiling garage here in Iowa.
Finished and insulated r13 walls and about r25 ceiling insulation.

I used a torpedo style heater to get the garage up to temp then used the elec to maintain temp.
It would take the elec heater hours to warm it up.

Last year i had natural gas ran out and a 50,000 btu house furnace hooked up. Gave up on the electric and torpedo heat.
