The warnings are pretty vague. How do they figure? I got one of these lightly used for cheap, and would like to put it on an overhead shelf. Do you guys think that would be safe? I figured that if I spaced out the bottom of the heater with a couple bars of aluminum and left plenty of space between it and the wall I would be okay. Maybe I'm missing other factors? I don't want a fire! Thanks

It would probably be okay, but I wouldn't put it on a wood shelf or run it unattended. Why can't you run it on the floor?

If you want it in the air just get one of the ceiling mount ones for ~$80 and go that route.
