Hello,

I'm a piano tuner and I'm constantly getting new tools for some little specific job so I'm constantly looking for better ways to organize things. I have many years of biomedical equipment experience and am currently trying to start a new business in emergency storage containers for out of residence storage strategic reasons.

I'm not here to talk about this a whole lot but more so about a new programmable tool box that allows me to put many different tools into organization and have it retained in a mobile box. Please reference a German designed tool box and it is found on alltimetools.com. They use a 3 pocket per pallet system with slotted foam that might be a memory foam or a heavy polyetheylene foam or something like that. The foam can't be more than probably .5-.75 in thick. What I'm interested in is the equivalent foam used in their boxes.

Has anyone seen this type of box made by BW or have an opinion on these foam pocket retaining systems? If so, I'd like some additional feedback. I have built my own custom boxes from time to time and am looking for better ways to organize portable cases. The basic concept of retaining with foam so that many tools can be organized with this system is awesome. I've tried stretchy fabric and it doesn't last. I've tried leather pocket systems which are nice for a while but they're so set for the tool and there isn't much allowance for adding new tools. I've tried rubber tubing and it doesn't work very good. I've thought about springs and velcro but I think they would be too inconvenient. I've tried drawers but stuff get's lost in them over time. This programmable system seems like an awesome idea.

Also, if anyone has knowledge or recommendations on what foam I could use to retrofit my existing tool boxes with the best rugged and retaining performance to simulate this system, please advise.

I don't know very much about foam.
