Progress!

Despite the blistering heat this summer, I am making progress on finishing the interior of my shop. Galvanized wainscoting rests on top of a PT 2X4, then pegboard, then white hardboard to the top. I did one section on another wall, but used J-channel to hold the bottom of the tin in place. Works fine, but fills up with sawdust and chips, so I skipped it on this section. How to hold the bottom of the tin in place? I attached backers of 3/4" plywood so I would have something to screw the tin to. This is the south bay; the center bay is mostly done already, and now I have to finish the north bay. The ceiling is done, just gotta do the walls. Of course, there's a ton of stuff to be moved. Soon I'll put in a mini-split and work in relative comfort! The little window is my emergency lighting, as during our rather frequent power outages, the shop is pitch black, and represents quite a hazard tripping over all of my stuff trying to reach the door.

All the lights can be emergency lighting with a standby generator. The proper GJ suggestion.

It seems like in all of the places I worked, the emergency lighting never seemed to work when it was needed. I suppose (I hope) they've improved over the years.

We have a solar powered light above the walk in door. It's bright enough to get from the door to most of the shop with the lights off.
