Figured id post some pics of my latest nemesis, 1950 dodge wayfarer convertible,Im building it as a driver so no frame off just semi quick resto to try and be ready for summer, somewhat of a rare car not too many around any more ,never see any at the car shows. shes pretty wavy but all steel so far needs alot of skim coat to smooth her out than slick sand filler primer, hand block sand than reg primer and of course paint. enjoy

Lovely shape. You're right - getting rare! What's in it now?

At least it's all there and looks reasonably solid - just gotta do the "mine-shaft" work! Will you do something to arrest the rust?

Looks like a great car to get back into fighting trim.

Is that your personal garage, or an industrial space/business?

Im going to make it more custom than stock, looking at house of color something metallic orange with a pearl because that car has the azz for it nice long rolling panels, it currently has a sub frame from an 86 monte with disc and the stock 4.3 v6 from the monte in it. im going to take out as much rust as i can, and try and neutralize the rest its not my dream car but its growing on me and because of the (never see one) thing its gonna be a good driver/ keeper. yes thats my personal garage i just built in 08. curious any members good with photo shop?? anybody shop it a metallic orange for me:)

Holy Moly!

That's a sweet ride. It's got just the right stance and everything.

I luv old cars ---- some more than others ---- but there aren't many that I wouldn't like to put in my garage.

Keep the pics coming!

Nice!

That don't look like the 49 business coupe I have, it dosen't have any windows in the side , behind the front doors, it just has the two door windows. I need to go and buy a new camara and take picture of it. I swear it has the same body style as the wayfarer. Mabe its a 49 plymouth, business coupe. I got the car gave to me and its been in my pasture for 5 years or longer, but it looks identicle to the 50 Dodge wayfarer if the roof was cut off.

That's not a '49, that's a '41

'49 Dodge 3 window

'49 Dodge 5 window

I think a lot of times the 3 windows were called Businessman's Coupe because of the extra trunk space and no back seating due to a business man not carrying around passengers but I may be wrong on that.

Yes sir mine looks just like the black one. My friend bought two of them, one to build a pro street, with big freakin tires in the rear and a mustang r/pinion steering with a big block chevy,LS6 454. He needed the passange door off the donor car, then he gave me the donor.
They are a unique looking car, but its been over 20 years when he started it. When I owned one of the first Media blasting shopes, back in 1989, we used his 49 business coupe for a demo, we draged it to car shows to show how the plastic media did on old cars. Them were some good ole days.
