This year for Christmas I decided to reward myself with a garage "Facelift".

I spend most of my time doing minor fabrication on classic motorcycles and now starting a classic car project, of I figured now was a good time to get the garage updated before the car comes home from sheetmetal and figured I would share some before/progress/after pics.

Here was/is my project todo list.

Paint Garage Walls
Install new T8 Lighting
Install 2 new 110 Cir
Install 1 new 220 Cir
Move 2 existing Cir for future LM3800 openers
Install new switches for lighting control.
Get new Compressor
Run new Copper for Compressor - 3 drops.
Build enclosure/room around water heater/garbage cans
Paint existing cabinets w/new hardware
New Workbench
Epoxy Floor

As of this weekend I have made some good progress. Have the new compressor in place, copper run into the garage, electrical, lighting, wall paint and cabinet paint done.

Will be working on the copper lines in the garage tonight, and then doing the floor on the 9th. So far its looking great..

Here are some shots along the way.

Looking great. What type of lights are those? For that many lights it's not as bright as I would think it would be. I'm thinking about installing several T8 flouresecents in my garage with a configuration similar to yours, mine has low ceiling height (approx 7'6") since there have been warnings about using T5's in low ceiling garages.

Thanks... she is coming along.

Those are Lithuania T8 Wraparound Fixtures with 4100K GE Bulbs. It is pretty bright, the pics don't do it justice. I am thinking about changing them over to 5000K CRI86 bulbs for a little more push.

Will post some more pics once I get the floor down, it should really pop, and be SO much nicer to work in.

Or that charcoal color ends up being green! So did the same work two days in a row, wore my *** out.. , but its worth it.

Very very nice! I am a big fan of the final color scheme...

Wish I had that much space in my garage!

What a weekend.. Started Thursday and got the floor all done and started putting the garage back together today. Still a LOT to get back together, but really digging how it all turned out. Still need to get my air lines done and cabinet hardware, as well as other organization pieces, but so far so good.. Here are a few progress pics.

Tons of stuff i love about your space, lots of light, obviously the size but the nice contrast with the off the floor shelving and the wall colour. Perfect!

Thanks guys really appreciate the feedback, as you know it was a lot of work, but the results are well worth it. I decided to build a new workbench (stolen idea from here) and that will be my first project in the new space, can't wait to get started.

The space is SO much nicer to work in now. Looks so good its forcing me to clean everything I have before I bring it back in.. LOL

Wow, very nicely done!

Usually, garage guys need to put a doormat in front of the door leading into the house --- your garage re-do demands a doormat in the house at the door leading into the garage! :lol_hitti

Very nice facelift indeed. The floor gives the room a really bright appearance.
