Funny, I have been drooling over your car condo whenever I go to C&C. Definetly one of the nicer ones there some seem too cluttered with cars or other items.

Thanks!

Ours is admittedly simple, but I always saw it mostly as a shop. The cool part is everyone can build 'their' vision.

I like seeing how far some guys will take these :eyecrazy:

I've never made it out to C&C but after seeing this, I would come out just to see this setup in the flesh! I haven't seen it asked yet? Anything you would have changed/ done differently now that you have spent a little time in there? Congratulations on the 2nd baby boy! They have one amazing father that is for sure!

I sure wish I could develop some property and have it zoned for something like this. Sure looks fun and full of awesome neighbors!

Thanks very much - appreciate that!

Wouldn't do much different. We took a relatively conservative approach to the design/furnishings and it's worked out well.

With the two young kids, we're not over there much.. hopefully that will change over time.

Happy to give you a tour.

Neighbors are great.. a bunch of car/cycle folks.

I looked at this thread when it was started but never came back until today. I really like the work you did there. I do have one question. I see that the main part of the space has fire sprinklers. Why didn't the building code require you to put sprinklers under the mezzanine? Unless I missed seeing them in the pictures posted.

How big is that door? 14' tall x 18' wide?

I think it's 16' Tall x 18' Wide.

There are two sprinkler heads under the mezzanine - you can see one here. I bought covers for them but don't have any pics of the final product. This pic is from right when the cabinets were installed.

Hi guys.. Thanks. No progress on either the garage or the Factory Five.. The signs are still scattered about on tables/cabinets....I'm knee deep at work and raising my two boys. My friends like the garage however and they're not shy about keeping a car there - case in point:

If you have to have a friend store their car in your space, that's not bad :lol_hitti. The price should be that you get to drive it once in a while!:rocker:

Still one of the best spaces on GJ.

Dang, this is SUCH a cool place! I was reading someone else's thread a few days ago, where someone had linked this build. Took me 3 days to read yours. LOL! I can't believe I haven't ran across this thread before!
Thank you SO MUCH for sharing your build with us all.

I'm glad you showed some of your neighbor's places back on page 25, it's interesting to see the many different ideas folks have for basically the same size of space.

BTW, in that last pic, there's a silver Camaro on the lift, did you paint the Yenko? Just curious.
I hope you and your family are all well. :)

Thanks! The nice man who owns the McLaren is very generous letting his friends drive it.. It's quite a car.

You're welcome and thank you!

I sold the blue '69 to a friend of mine's sister and brother in law.. I just wasn't driving her. They love it and are driving the wheels off of it.

I wasn't planning on another '69 but then ran across 'Darkside' surfing on Lat-G one day.. I bought it 10 minutes after I saw it.

She's got a modded LS-7 (~612hp), full Detroit Speed front subframe & four link rear, 9" Ford diff, huge Wilwood brakes, coilovers, etc.... It's literally a C6 Z06+ with a '69 Camaro body. Covers ground quickly.

That is beautiful. I love when a classic is updated just enough to make it more fun to drive.

Woah! I don't blame you, I would have bought it too! I looks like it was very nicely done.

Thanks guys!

That's a beautiful car! Do you have a link to the Lateral-G build thread? I'd like to read through it. Thanks!

**** Never mind. Found it!

Right on.. it was a mess when it was started.. bit better now

I'm considering Moduline cabinets for my garage. The standard line of thought around here is "they're aluminum and belong in a trailer." But, very few people actually have them. So, I wanted your thoughts on their strength and durability. I'm especially curious about the drawers with heavy tools in them. Sorry if this has been addressed.

Hi.

The Moduline's are extremely strong.. I have a ton of tools in mine and they glide like butter. I've had no problems with locks, glides, latches, or anything.

I looked at virtually every manufacturer of cabinet before picking the Modulines. Key attributes: strong, 'modular' ie unlimited combinations of sizes/shapes, color choices, great service, great warranty.

They are expensive - but IMO they're worth it.

*full disclosure, I have Gladiator cabinets at home. I had them before we built the 'condo' out. I like them also, but they are not in the same category as the Mod's., either quality or price.

Hope that helps. LMK w/ any specific questions.

What's your C&C schedule? Are you at every one? I saw someone post a pic of the GT that was in your shop. (can't remember if it's yours) Just wondering, I'd like to meet you and see the shop sometime.

Hey - I'm hoping to be at a few of them this year, except maybe July 4th. I'm usually spectating - trying to catch all the cool cars, but PM me if you're going to be at June and I'll give you a tour.

HIRISC, I hope you don't mind me asking - what do these spaces cost? Obviously you finish it is up you, but just for the space itself?

I spent some time on AutoMotorPlex's website but couldn't find any pricing information. I'm on the hunt for something similar in Massachusetts.
