Here are some photos of our www.prep-crete.com Installation Company pouring 60,000 square feet of finished floors in Brooklyn NY new apartment building of self leveling underlayment and then micro topping with a polishable topping and then sealing. The floors need a total of about 17 steps to achieve the desired specified result.

You’ll notice in one of the photos the orange marks with height pins set by our lasers so we know how much to pour in each area since the floor needs to be dead level and the rough masons can’t hold tolerances often. Pea gravel was used as a filler and to slow the progress of the leveler and keep it where it belongs. This project had heights of from almost zero to about 2” of variations to get level. Complicated work and only one shot to get it right!

The other photos show the prepped floors with epoxy and sand broadcast for bonding and the machine pump mixing the material for pumping onto the floor.

One of the areas is completed for the Sales Office. Customer very happy. All in a days work.

Yes it is. Tricks of the trade. The little dams we made hold the material in place while it thickens a tad so we can meet the heights of the markers. It requires several men walking around on the mix in the slurry.

As it firms up a bit they rake the pea gravel into the mix. Gives it body and saves money as a filler.

Because we have a lot of experience with all of these things it helps us tremendously to properly recommend coatings and repair products that work under virtually any application since we install so much of it and trust us we do NOT want callbacks!

We try to share these things to educate the Members. We too learn each day as each of these projects has its own challenges and conditions and no two jobs ever seem alike. With 50+ men daily installing coatings and such we see it all!!
