I installed the hoist a few weeks ago but still don't have electricity yet.

The wagon is finished now and for sale. Seems to be plenty of interest from tire kickers but nobody has any money.

Finally getting around to re-decking my little 5x8 tilt trailer. Seems to be suffering a bad case of mission creep and snowballed into a repaint.

Catch-up post. The shop is mostly done and I'm mostly moved in.

The biggest hang-up was getting an electrician to show up. I finally ended up just doing it myself.

The 510 sold shortly after my last post. It lives in Utah now.

My dad bought a beater work truck that I've spent many, many hours tinkering on. Nice having it around. Came in handy for moving all my junk from his shop over to mine.

The Chief got some more chrome and I did a 1500 mile ride with my dad and his band of New Balance outlaws.

I did a 1200 mile offroad ride across eastern Oregon with my brother and some buddies. OBDR route 5 from California to Washington.

Lots of dust, a few crashes, and too many flat tires.

Most recently I've gotten back on my '35 pickup project. I swapped in the TKO600 and sold off the A833.

There's a pile of parts inbound. I'll try not to let the updates go so long.

Looks like it's been over a year. Here's some catch-up.

Sent my '35 cab home with my brother for body and paint.20211127_165158.jpg
Meanwhile, I collect more parts...20220128_115724.jpg

My dad picked up a '36 sedan, played with it for a couple months, then sent it to a new home in Colorado. 20210418_154036.jpgshortly after that, he picked up a '37 pickup for a winter project. Bought it on his 70th birthday and it's changed a lot from how he bought it. I think he only got it to prod my brother and I to finish ours. Hoping to see a '35, '36, '37 caravan soon.20210723_125809.jpg

The Cutlass still makes taco runs.
20201203_113415.jpg

I bought a V8-60.20220109_135542.jpg

Did another week long ride with my brother and another buddy. Was supposed to be 4 of us but one guy broke his ankle the week before. We learned a lot from last year so it was pretty drama-free.
20210709_161243.jpg
Several fire detours did put us on the highway for many miles. That prompted me to pull the trigger on a big block six speed swap for my humble TW. Assembly starts this weekend.20220128_134100.jpg

New compound is still a work in progress. I started fencing and cross-fencing in the fall. Need to drop 5 80' cottonwoods before I go much further.20220128_151936.jpg
I'll need to trench for irrigation in a couple months, but the plan is to have sheep on the hill before fall.20210805_195705.jpg

Thanks for checking in.

I did my 225 build and rode a couple thousand miles. Did a trip through Central Oregon with my brother and a couple buddies.20220710_080701.jpg20220711_063349.jpg

My dad finished and sold the '37 pickup.20220316_130920.jpg20220507_160936.jpg20220507_160908.jpg

My daughter got a hankerin' for a tiny house. Still in process...20221202_114650.jpg20230127_140842.jpg

I built another 225 for my 2nd loaner bike.20230114_185500.jpg

Around this point my dad got bored and found another project. He's always primarily looking for '35-'36s but found another '37 he couldn't live without. Last registered in '81 and obviously somebody's baby before that. Lots of chrome interior bits and a 59AB. Louvered hood too. The flathead is locked up so it's slated for a 283 swap. Otherwise, the plan is to preserve the original builder's vision. image000000.jpgimage000001.jpg

I've been around '35-37 fords all my life and never seen one this straight. It's unbelievable! He's got a good path planned for this one.

I've been working on the general vision for The New Compound. Lots of ditch work and fencing, as well as tree work.20220402_095751.jpg20220423_134436.jpg

I picked up this rad '70s RotoHoe tiller with a chipper attachment. It's a true garden slayer.20221021_151018.jpg20221030_150512.jpg

You should all work toward growing your own food.

It feels kind of a lame recap for 2022 but it's all I've really got. Work has finally gotten back to 2019 case load so I'm on the road a lot. I put 50,000 miles on Supervibe last year. 20211130_123108.jpg
It's currently got 351,000 on the clock and I'd like to run it to 400k. I've got one eye out for it's replacement.

My '35 pickup cab is still sitting in the corner of my brother's body shop...untouched. Paint jail is real.

I've gotten really good at buying parts for projects but not necessarily finishing them. As per my last post, the 225 I built was probably 25 separate ebay purchases, including swapping cases. 20221017_074327.jpg

20221221_154523.jpg
For some reason, finding complete engines is tough unless you buy a whole bike and part it out. I even robbed the head off of last year's build to shuffle parts. The shiney compete engine in the previous post is essentially a stock TTR225 engine now. The one in the white bike is a 229cc mongrel with an XT225 bottom end and the topend is a combination of ATV parts. It's built more for lower speed torque in mind.

We're hoping to have my daughter's house finished in May. After that I'll be doing a cam swap and putting a 6spd in the Chief. 20221015_110540.jpg

I didn't ride it as much as I should have last year. Didn't drive the Cutlass much either. There's a row of BBO still waiting too. The one in the middle is a 425 out of a Toronado and it's designated for the Cutlass. Other 2 are 455s. One from a 442 and the other from a Toronado. Not sure where they'll end up.20200920_144923.jpg

The rototiller purchase has inspired me to greatly expand my garden space. I've also added a few fruit trees each spring. Currently at 11 with room for 4-6 more. I picked up some grape starts last year. Probably no grapes this year but maybe in 2024.20220902_142341.jpg20220828_131310.jpg

I still don't have sheep yet. All this stuff takes time and money. I never seem to have both simultaneously. I just try to do what I can, when I can.

Aaannnddd...another year has passed. Supervibe made it to 406,000 and fell victim to a 4-car pile-up. Got replaced by a 4cyl AWD Venza.20240125_164724.jpg20231229_162633.jpg

I did my annual BDR ride with my brother and buddies. We rode the IDBDR from Nevada to Canada. It was pretty incredible. 20230716_123558.jpg20230717_183008.jpg20230718_091013.jpg20230723_201448.jpg

We did about 1600 miles in under a week.20230721_082604.jpg20230723_201448.jpg20230724_074307.jpg

My dad did ton of work to his '37 pickup. Brakes are done, it's completely rewired, and it has an era-correct SBC swap.20231112_154341.jpg
Dash has been restored, including '40 wheel and full upholstery. 20240204_115506.jpg

20240308_133543.jpg

Also, I recently fell victim to a 12V impulse buy. The paint is hideous but it runs better than great. You guys wouldn't believe what I paid for it. 20240226_154225.jpg

After last season, I did a few upgrades to thr blue TW. It got a complete XT225 Swap, as well as Race Tech fork emulators and a Bradley rear shock. It's ready for next season.20240226_144200.jpg
