I have a friend that finds stuff. He’s always going to garage sales, estate sales, swap meets and getting inside access to storage spots and warehouses that are being cleaned out. Fortunately we don’t have over-lapping interests in the kind of things we’re in to so he passes a lot of unique finds my way.
He recently found me this old Snap-on wrench display at an estate sale for $5. It was missing the “finished” wrench from the board but wouldn’t you know it, he came across one in a collection of tools he recently bought and sent it my way.
I’m guessing it is from the 1980’s. It has the newer 80’s and up logo on the top of it although all of the wrenches are stamped with the previous logo. I imagine some of these old stock tools with that logo were still floating around for quite a while once they actually switched. When I started Vo-tech in the mid-90’s some of my basic tool set still had a few of these older stamped tools in it.
I thought it was pretty neat.
