Dare anybody to explain this
The charger for the cordless impact driver only works on certain powerpoints and never when plugged into a powerboard or an extension lead !!
It will work on one powerpoint in the house but not on other powerpoints on the same circuit !

Then again at out holiday house it will work on the external powerpoint when plug into an RCD powerboard, but not on any other GPO.

How's that for magic .................

pulling it apart is on the list...........
although it should be below zero tonight so I might leave it on the back verandah and see it it works from cold.

The "wall wart" power supply probably has solid blades on the plug

The solid blades fail to make reliable contact with the worn receptacles and extension cords

Thats possible the house was built in the 30's and is an amazing mix of bakelite GPO's and switches, cloth covered wire in metal conduit with more contemporary stuff patched in.
Well insured and waiting for it to burn down
