Propane fireplace thermostat

Hiya all, some my dilemma is the only way I can get my two wire thermostat to work is when the off on switch is off, then the fan will not work.
If I turn the switch on the thermo works in reverse sorta, then the fan works but not the thermostat. Anyone have any ideas?
Prior to me owning it and converting to lpg, two technicians worked on it, the previous owner said it never worked right after that.
Any help much appreciated.

can't really tell anything from the pics . can you find a model number of the valve & check online for wiring schematics?

wires look correct, Th + TP/th make sure your valve is in the ON position

doesnt matter what wire is on the th/tp + tp it works both ways jump the wires together and see if the fireplace starts... if not then you have a different issue

Does the gas valve use a powerpile for the gas valve safety or thermocouple. Most use a powerpile which is 250 - 750 mv which a millivolt thermostat has to be used not one for 24 vac. Gas valve has a burnt wire in the pic also someone used push on connectors with solid wire put wires under the screws.
