Propane Fitting 50,000 BIG MAXX

Hi, what is the proper size fitting that goes into the back of the 50,000 Big Maxx units? I beleive 1/2inch, but any particular thread type? POL, MIF, etc?

I just bought a flex connector that came with two 1/2" male pipe thread adapters. Easy peasy.
