Propane heat ?

I have a portable 220v electric heater in my 2 car garage (660sq.ft.)
There is a propane heater at TSC on sale this week for $100.00

+ I will need to buy a couple of propane tanks.

1) Will I need to vent this heater (if so, how?)
2) For occasional use (12 to 20 hours a week) will this save me enough $$ to be worth while?

Well it and you will need oxygen sometime. those are made like the oil/kerosene flame throwers. good for greenhouses or temporary heat in a shed. a vented heater with it's own make up air would be better.

I have one of those propane torpedo heaters I've been using for a few years. Finally wired in a 220 Volt socket so I can use a 5000 Watt electric heater. Why? The propane heater is very noisy and smelly. Fills the garage with fumes. My garage is 28 x 32.

Currently I use a 5000 Watt fan-forced 220 Volt heater as the primary heat, with a 30,000 BTU "blue flame" ventless heater as supplemental heat to bring the garage up to a comfortable temp. I shut off the propane heat once it gets warm enough where I can feel my fingers.

Yes you will need to vent. I use a radiant torpedo style heater that I run diesel thru. I keep my man door open afew inches when it's running. When I get the garage up to a comfortable heat, I close the door and the garage keeps the heat in for awhile, when it dips below, I reapeat the process.

I estimated fuel useage on mine and I could't have heated my detached garage to 70's all winter without seeing a HUGE difference in my gas bill if I was using gas, or the same if using electric.

I have no suprises when I get my utility bills. I fill my 5 gal diesel can and it lasts about 3 weekends
