Hi
I went to the propark 9 (ADG forward canada) showroom today. I'm planning on purchasing a 4 post lift this July for my garage. I've pretty much settled on the Bendpak HD9 but as the ADG company is local to me I thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. To make a long story short, they really didn't have any sort of compelling argument for why I should buy their lift. The salesman said that in order to compete with the market for hobby lifts they can't ALI certify the lift. He said the lift would be ok for going up and down 2 or 3 times a week, not 2 or 3 times a day (ie commercial setting). He said that there are no ALI certified 4 post lifts that have wheels (wrong, the Bendpak HD9 does). He didn't have the lift I was interested in "in working order" but basically showed me a propark 7. All in all, he wasn't a salesman at all and probably that was the best part for me. Maybe more polished and I'd have considered the propark. I asked to see an ALI lift, which they do sell, and he told me it was out of my price league. (did I mention how much I wanted to spend? no).
So, I'm going to purchase the Bendpak HD 9 from Babco tools in BC Canada and get it shipped to Toronto. Yes I could get it from a US distributor but I think I'll support the company on my side of the boarder and not worry about customs, warranty parts etc.
So, FWIW for my Canadian boardmembers, bendpak 1, propark zero. Kinda sounds like a leaf game.
