Proper media blaster grounding for static electricity?

After going through 2 electric motors (1 bearings, 1 due to electrical issue), I decided to convert to a Dust Deputy/shop vac set up. The old system was always crappy at collecting dust. Briefly tried this new setup and it worked great--no dust in cabinet, all dust in cyclonic separator. So that part is a success.

So my question: I wanted to ground the entire run of PVC from the cabinet to the separator. It's got to be a static electricity lightning rod. How best to do it, if the way I did it below is ****?
  • separator already comes with the foil shown
  • wire from foil to cabinet and braided strap
  • braided strap wrapped around the PVC, then secured with sheet metal screws that go into the pipe
  • wire from braided strap to cabinet light switch and its ground
  • multiple grounds along the way to cabinet
When my air compressor kicked on, the LED light in the cabinet flickered once. Maybe nothing other than it's an LED, but maybe indicative of an issue.

Smart/experienced people weigh in please.
