I bought this on craigslist a few years ago and am finally ready to put it into action. I cobbled together a few pieces that came with it including an air filter then an Oiler. This is a first attempt so and advice is appreciated.

I would lose the oiler. I think adding oil directly to the air tool is a better way of doing it. By losing it, it also won't contaminate your piping and hose(s) with more oil.

I would also be looking for a regulator and a new particle filter. I like Wilkerson, which can be found relatively cheap on e-bay.

Ok, at the risk of sounding stupid what does a regulator do?

I concur about losing the oiler, no sense contaminating hoses & such that will make a mess of things, they are best used on a specific piece of stationary equipment that requires lubrication.

Don't ask.

Allows you to control the pressure in the rest of the system. What are your plans between the compressor and tools? Just a hose or are you piping the building with various locations to connect?
What tools will you be running?

Plans are to run a hose directly off it for Basic air tools and such. No plumbing for now.

I would lose the gate valve and install a ball valve. This will make it easier to shut off the air supply in a hurry if you need to. Terry

A regulator limits the amount of pressure for the tools, especially if being used to spray paint,or to inflate tires.

The air filter is too close from the compressor to be efficient, but first of all, are you planning on a fixed installation or this will be somehow mobile ?

Otherwise, it looks good. Which brand/model is the compressor ?

Make sure that the regulator and filter are speced for the pressure you are running. With a plastic bowl on the filter in may not be good for the 175 psi that unit is capable of. I also would not have that much unsupported piping hanging off the tank. You will break it off. Better to find a place to park the compressor and then mount the filter/regulator on the wall and use a flex(hydraulic) hose between it and the tank.

On edit; Have you confirmed if that is single or 3 phase? I don't see any start caps so I'm assuming it is 3 phase. Do you have 3 phase power?

The question everyone is missing is, what is that beautiful Hemi going in?

I'd guess maybe a 1968 Satellite ?

If you have a permanent spot for it, I'd start plumbing some air line along the wall. It can be easily done and added on to future extension.

+1. Also gate valve rarely seal 100%.

Also loose the oiler. If you ever paint your screwed.

A shorter ****** to bring the coupler closer to be less like to be caught or broke off due to leverage.

Thanks for all the advise. The Desoto hemi is a small Mopar obsession of mine. Hopefully to go into a 32 Ford one day. The 68 Sat Along with all these are long gone. I replumbed the compressor in a slightly more simple setup.
